youth-awardsThis award rewards youths (persons under the age of 19) for their practice of good sportsmanship. It is open to youths in two categories, the first being primary schools; and the second comprising secondary schools, community groups and youth groups.

The media is encouraged to report on incidents of good sportsmanship displayed by our nation’s youth in the expectation that it would further encourage such practices.

Sportsmanship may be defined as: the displaying of fair play, respect for opponents, polite behavior, and graciousness in winning or losing by someone who is competing in a sport or competition.
